Hello Lincoln Families,  NWEA testing in reading and math is finished. I am working on collecting more reading data using the Fountas and Pinnell reading assessment as well. The data will be used to put together reading groups. I'm hoping to start putting them together by the end of this week and begin as soon as possible. We will continue  activities on getting to know and welcome everyone as one class. We will also continue practicing classroom procedures in Daily 5 (language arts), and Math Daily 3 routines. This week we will also begin, Waves of Sound in Mystery Science. Our math jounals have finally arrived! In math, we will be focusing on adding and subtracting large numbers. I began last Friday by teaching some strategies on rounding large numbers.  I look forward to a wonderful week! Just in case you missed the blog from last week below are some important reminders. It allowed me to have more meaningful conversations with each student. This next week we will continue to practice safety protocols and procedures as well as classroom routines and procedures. Below I have more information about things you and your child should know. Please make sure you scroll all the way through the blog and click on the hyperlinks. If I forgot something or you need more clarity, feel free to email me at any time. Thank you for your understanding:)  Google Classroom was a big focus this week. This is the learning management system our district will be using. Mrs. Goniwiecha created a screencast on how to log into your child's Google account. I reviewed this with the students last week. Once students are logged into their accounts they are supposed to go to Google Classroom. Once i...

They begin to learn how to depend less on teachers and become more independent learners.  As 4th-grade teachers, we have an important role in setting the foundation for our students to become lifelong learners. I have taken time this summer to reflect on the silver linings from this last spring in regards to remote learning. What has stuck with me the most is that just prio...
