Hello Lincoln Families,

We had outstanding attendance for the Google Meet on Friday! It exceeded my expectations. I think everyone enjoyed 2 Truths and a Lie as well. I did post the recording in Google Classroom if your child was unable to join. I'm excited to begin this week with 100% of our class all day! The focus will be  activities on getting to know and welcome everyone as one class. We will work on classroom procedures and expectations including a class contract, Daily 5 (language arts), and Math Daily 3 routines. I look forward to a wonderful week! Below I have included some important reminders. Have a great week:)

Virtual Parent Night:  Mr. Hubble will share the link to our Back-to-School Night video. Here is the link to the  Back -to-School Night Slide Presentation. After watching the video, if you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you.

Towels: Just a reminder, students are allowed to bring a beach or a bath towel to sit around the classroom during lunch and to take outside with them if we go into the courtyard for some activities. If you could also make sure your child has a water bottle each day, that would be helpful. We can't use drinking fountains.

Field Trip Forms: Your child will receive a walking field trip for you to sign and return. Due to the current circumstances, we will not be taking any field trips this year. However, since we do have less time outside at recess this year, we may occasionally take walks around the neighborhood to get some fresh air that may be off of school property. Therefore, the permission slip is to leave school property for occasional walks as a class.

Safety Patrol: Thank you to the students who are able to participate in the program. Please try to turn in your permission slip on Monday. If your child would like to participate and hasn't received a permission slip please let me know. If you need more information, I have added it below.

Book Orders: Book orders were due on Friday, Sept. 18th. I encourage you to order on Scholastic's web site. However, if you want to send them in that is totally fine.  The class code is PB27H

I will also be sending home information for school pictures along with the walking field trip. Some of you received it last Thursday because we didn't have it on Wednesday. The rest of our class will get it on Monday in their homework folders. Thank you for your understanding.

Safety Patrol Information:

Hello Parents & Students,

The 4th and 5th graders watched a video about our Safety Patrol program last week.

Due to the pandemic protocol and procedures, meeting with students outside of our cohorts

isn’t possible. So I’m relying on videos and emails for communication, which is making it a

little trickier to recruit students. Lincoln School is in desperate need of Safety Patrollers.

The program instills students with a sense of responsibility and leadership as they protect

classmates going to and from school each day. Please consider allowing your child to participate

in this program. The information below is an overview of what is expected. Your teacher

has permission slips that will need to be signed and turned into Mrs. Abbott before you can

begin, along with a tour of the Posts if you are a 4th grader. Thank you for your consideration.

There are three posts.

Post 1: Bus post-Only bus riders work this post.

They will make sure students are safe. The duty ends

when the student has to get on the bus.

Post 2: Is on Morton across from the church

Post 3: Is on Morton and Langley (down the sidewalk from Post 2).

Both posts 2 & 3 are accessed by the lane adjacent to the playground.

If you are interested in allowing your child to participate, he/she would have to be

at the post by 8:30am and walk-in when the bell rings. In the afternoon, Patrollers

start getting ready by 3:40pm and are expected to stay until 4:05. Bus riders leave

when they get on the bus. Also, rain or shine patrollers need to be on post. If it rains I

have rain jackets from my back room. The only time you do not go to your post is when

the temperature is in the one digits.
