Hello Lincoln Families,

Happy Mother's Day! Each student made a little something for you along with a poem. Be sure to ask them about it:)

Thank you so much for the wonderful notes, flowers, and gifts this week for Teacher Appreciation! It truly warmed my heart with the outpouring of kindness. Our PTO absolutely spoiled our staff each day with fantastic treats and gifts as well! I feel so fortunate and blessed to work for such an amazing school and community:)

M-Step testing will begin this week on Monday, May 10 in reading and math. We will test in the morning. Thank you for making appointments in the afternoon!  It's extremely helpful.   Remember students are encouraged to wear their P2 t-shirt on Monday. Have a fantastic week!

Here's what is happening this next week:

Reading: Students will finish the year in a Book Club. Each student has been given a chapter book to dig deeper into a conversation using key details, vocabulary, special passages with figurative language, and writing summaries.

Writing: Students will be working on writing poetry and free writing including personal narratives. At Author's Chair, students will continue presenting their informational essays and Powtoons.

Math: We have about 4 weeks left of solid math review. I have planned to use this time to work with students in small groups. I will use this time to reteach and review for those students who need it and extend learning for students using the essential standards. Please continue to encourage your child to practice multiplication/division facts at home with flashcards, IXL, etc. for extra practice. Students can continue to practice IXL Diagnostic and now Khan Mappers for extra yards.

Science: This week we will be exploring, "Where does energy come from?"

Social Studies: Student's essays are finished! They are working hard on the Powtoon presentation. We are finishing our SS units with developing a deeper understanding of the three branches of the city, state, and federal government

Positivity Project: This week's focus: Open-Mindedness

Every Monday is Positivity Day: Students wear P2 T-Shirt
