Here's what is happening this next week:
Reading: Next week and after spring break we will continue to focus on reading strategies to find text structures like compare & contrast, cause & effect in different texts in non-fiction texts.
Writing: After Spring Break the writing focus will shift. Students will use research from their historical event to write a 5 paragraph informational essay with a thesis statement and other important elements. Students will experience more of the writing process. This will take a few weeks to publish into a Google Slide.
Math: We will take the Unit test on Partial Quotients and multiplication strategies for long division along with multiplying a whole number by a fraction, and finding acute, right, and obtuse angles. Please continue to encourage your child to practice multiplication/division facts at home with flashcards, IXL, etc. for extra practice. Students can continue to practice IXL Diagnostic and now Khan Mappers for extra yards.
Science: These lessons will be on pause until after Spring Break:) This is our last unit and we have plenty of time to finish. We are halfway through already!
Social Studies: We will continue researching historical events like the Underground Railroad, Dust Bowl, and Orphan Trains. The information they gather will be integrated, like the aforementioned, and finalized with a presentation of WeVideo, etc. They are in the process of learning some different "tech tools". If they are finished in time they should be able to submit the presentation at Tech Fest!
Positivity Project: This week's focus is Humor!
