Hello Lincoln Families,   Our class was able to do March Madness reading activities put together by Mrs. Bacolor on Friday at our class Read-In along with reading their own personal collection of favorite books. It was a wonderful morning! Report cards will go home this week.  Remember the goal is to have all standards on the report card in the 3 range by the end of 4th grade. So, if your child falls below that range, we will continue to work on those area(s). Also, the multistep word problem standard on the report card for this trimester only includes: adding, subtracting, multiplication, and NOT division. Division for multistep word problems will be reported in the last trimester.  I need to address a situation that happened this week during our Media Center time.   Hello Lincoln Families, I hope everyone is well! I was one of the 900 school staff yesterday to get vaccinated at the BCHD. I was impressed by how smoothly and organized the process went as well as how friendly everyone was.  I will admit, I was a little nervous, but it couldn't have been a better experience considering the circumstances.  We only have two weeks left before our second-trimester ends. I have been and will continue giving different assessments to gather data to report on report cards especially in areas where students may have an area(s) of difficulty. February Here's what is happening this week: Reading: This week we will continue practicing using the reading strategy to summarize a text called, Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then, or SWBST. Writing: Students have had lots of opportunities for creative writing. Students will have this week to finish a free write, which might include a poem, fictional story, or a personal narrative. Ask your child to share the writing piece they are currently drafting. Encourage them to present at the Author's Chair which is at the end of each day. Math: We will continue Unit 5 on fractions . They are learning strategies for adding fractions. Please encourage your child to practice multiplication/division facts at home with flashcards, IXL, etc. for extra practice. Students can continue to practice IXL Diagnostic and now Khan Mappers for extra yards. Science: We will begin the unit on Energizing Everything the week of February 15th.
