Hello Families,

We had a fantastic week! Our class works really hard daily at achieving their individual goals and are learning lots! In addition, the Positivity Project has been very beneficial in our classroom to our social and emotional health. We are building a common vocabulary that helps us understand each other on a more compassionate level. At our morning meetings, we reflect and share with a better understanding of how our words and actions affect others. It's been not only positive but powerful. I can't say it enough, but your children are amazing and I am so grateful to have them in my life! Have a great week:)

Here's what is going on in the classroom:

Reading: This week we will continue practicing the cause & effect reading questioning strategy.

Writing: This last week the students begin researching physical and human features of the region they would like to live in the U.S. Once students chose their region they started the rough draft for the persuasive essay. This writing will continue over a few weeks.

Math: We began multiplication extending facts, partial products, and geometry to include partitioning rectangles last week. I continue to encourage 4th graders to practice multiplication facts at home with flashcards, IXL, etc. for extra practice. Students can continue to practice IXL Diagnostic and now Khan Mappers.

Science: This week we will continue the unit on the Human Machine.

Social Studies: We are focusing on the spatial, physical & human features and how they are connected in the United States and integrating this study with our persuasive writing.

Positivity Project: This week's focus is on Perseverance.
